Hand Quilting Quality

A quilter's stitch is 1 down, 2 up, etc. The ideal, and what every hand quilter strives for, is 10 stitches per inch. That means 5 top stitches and 5 bottom stitches. Consistency is the goal of fine stitching. I quilt 12 stitches per inch consistently.
12 stitches per inch.
Sample Block ditch stitched by hand. 17.5 x 17.5" area took 2 and a half days.
