Finished Quilts

These are all of the quilts I have made from the most recent to the oldest. I love quilting, but I had to stop after I moved into my mother’s house. I don’t know if I’ll ever get to make quilts again.

Home of the Brave

This is a quilt that I started in 2020, but haven’t finished. It was inspired by a line in the movie, A Few Good Men. When Lt. Sam Weinberg asks Lt. Commander Jane Galloway why she likes the Marines so much she says, “Because they stand on a wall and they say no one is going to hurt you tonight, not on my watch.” Both of my brothers are Marines. One of them served in Fallujah and Afghanistan.

Company Logo Wall Hanging

This is a company logo quilt I made for Robert Brooks. It was finished on October 09, 2019.

LSU Faux T Shirt

This is an LSU Faux T Shirt quilt I made for Bryan Johnston. It was finished on June 01, 2019.

OSU Faux T Shirt

This is an OSU Faux T Shirt quilt I made for Chad Cruce. It was finished on April 26, 2019. He wanted a t shirt quilt and the shirts were too expensive so I cheated by downloading photos of shirts and printing the graphics on transfer paper.

Log Cabin Heart

This is a Log Cabin Heart quilt I sold to Chad Cruce on October 14, 2018. This quilt was a lot of fun. The challenging part was getting all the quilt motifs to fit because the blocks weren’t exactly the same size after they were sewn together.

Chile Mauve

This is a Chile Mauve quilt that I made for Ted Williams. It was finished on May 14, 2018. He wanted the colors of the quilt to match a painting of a Chilean immigrant who owned a night club in Oklahoma City. She died of a drug overdose in 1980.

Tulips & Butterflies

This is a Tulips & Butterflies quilt that I sold to Cherry Cline on May 12, 2018. This was my first attempt at a painted fused appliqué quilt. I designed the wind motif.

Whole Cloth Embroidered Baby

This is a quilt that my aunt had embroidered by a professional. She brought it to me to have it quilted. There is no label because she wanted to pass it off as her own work. It was finished on June 15, 2017.

Breast Cancer

This is a Breast Cancer quilt I made for Amy Rouse. It was finished on September 17, 2016. This was a scrap quilt that I really enjoyed making. The hearts are embroidered.

Company Logo Wall Hanging

This is a Company Logo Wall Hanging I made for Robert Brooks. It was finished on August 13, 2016. All of the lettering is hand painted. It’s hanging up in his office on 7th street.

Tinker Bell

This is a Tinker Bell quilt I made for Hannah Goodman. It was finished on August 05, 2016. This quilt top is entirely hand painted and the fairies are done in colored pencil over an inkjet transfer.

Rose Baby Quilt

This is a Rose Baby quilt I made for MacKenzie Brooks. It was finished on January 26, 2016. The back is painted. I must admit this quilt was a rush job and it’s one of my least favorites.

Log Cabin Wall

This is a Log Cabin Wall quilt I made for Darin Johnston. It was finished on December 15, 2015. I designed this quilt to look like the wall of a hunter’s log cabin. Every part of it was a challenge. The center window moulding and “logs” are double stuffed. The deer mount was printed directly on fabric. It took many attempts to get it right. The scenery is thread painted for emphasis. My favorite part is the painting at the bottom. It’s still my best work.

Active Duty Patriotic

This is an Active Duty Patriotic quilt I made for Michael Rodriguez. It was finished on May 28, 2015. It was my first attempt at hand guided embroidery on a sewing machine.

Danish Delight

This is a Danish Delight quilt I made for Skyler Rodriguez. It was finished on May 04, 2015. This is the only quilt I’ve made entirely by hand. It took me a year.

20 Year LHS Reunion Wall Hanging

I made this quilt to commemorate my 20 year high school reunion. It was finished in September 2012. I looked up my classmates on Facebook and printed their photos on transfer paper. The names of the people I couldn’t find are embroidered. The paw prints are painted. The LL ribbon in the center stands for Lindsay Leopards.

Vintage Blue Gingham

This was the first quilt I made in 2011. It was a queen size quilt that I made entirely on a sewing machine. I finished the quilt, but it destroyed the machine and I had to buy another one. The dashing fabric framing the windmills belonged to my great grandmother.

Rose Garden Window Quilt

This was my first quilting attempt in 2010. It was inspired by the window quilts of the Dust Bowl/Depression era when women used fabric strips dipped in flour paste as rudimentary window caulking. Quilts were hung in windows for privacy and insulation. I lived in a drafty old house that was built in 1929 so I had to try it. It did nothing for insulation, but it had a stained glass effect from the outside at night. When I realized what a quilt could be, I was hooked.
