Gradients are used to show elements (sky, water, fire) or to create form. A gradient can have an ombré effect or incorporate other colors. It generally flows from a dark color to light and the light can be at one end or in the center. Apply mineral spirits over the transition to make the blending less visible. A successful gradient doesn’t show a transition from one color to the next. It should flow seamlessly.
